Question about the 30DS

So I'm seeing a lot of posts about the 30DS and that a lot of you are doing it.
I'd like to start on this program as well. However, I am training myself to run a 5K in October. I run 3 days a week in the morning: MWF. I do the biggest loser toning DVD on Tues & thurs.
Do you have to do the 30 days consecutively? Like if I start Aug 1st, do I have to complete it by Aug 30th? Or can I do it every other day? I really want to keep training for the 5K, but I think doing that and 30DS (even if it's morning and then night) in one day might overload me.
How do you guys do the 30DS?

I do 30DS everyday - well try to. But if you already have a fitness program it should be fine to just do it on the days you can. It will still help you with a little bit of strength training to complement your cardio. It wont hurt but you may not see the results as fast.
Just do what you can - its always good to mix it up!!0 -
There is no magic to it, its just a good workout, and its quick. Get started on level one and see how you feel. I do it about every other day, but somedays I do two levels (one right after the other). If you are really sore (which i was the first time I started it), then you probably want to take some rest days anyway!).0

You can do them for 30 consecutive days, or you can take some breaks inbetween.
there are 3 levels, you do each level for 10 days. I did level 1 10 days straight, took a 2 day break in Level 2 because I was having knee problems, and just recently took a 5 day break in Level 3 because I went on vacation and I have been having some ankle issues.
I am also doing the C25K program. (which is AWESOME, btw!) So I believe it is possible to be a runner and do 30DS as well. Take breaks if you need to. The most important thing is to not injure yourself.

When I first started doing JM workouts (I also work in Ripped in 30 and No More Trouble Zones) I did it sporadically because I was running a lot too. Usually 4 days a week. I did see some improvements. I'm definitely getting stronger. Recently I've been running and trying to do it 5 days a week. This means that some days I'm running and doing Ripped in 30 which doesn't seem too bad. I do have to take a minute after my run to recover before I start my next workout. Whatever works for you is how you do it. I think even adding three days a week of strength training is good, but you may not see the drastic results that people who are doing it 6 days a week are seeing.0

I started by doing it every other day, because like you, I'm doing C25K as well. After the first week though I started doing 30DS every day even on the days that I run. It helped me break my weight loss plateau. You may be sore at first, but once you get into the routine it's not too hard to handle.
Currently I'm on Day 11 of 30DS(Lvl2,D1), and week 9 of C25K.
Hope this helps!0 -

What's the highest amount of time for any workout? I'm asking to see if this can be fit into my daily schedule so that maybe I could do this everyday....or try to.0

30DS have 3 different lvls, each lvl is the same amount of time. (what I'm doing is lvl1 for 10 days, then lvl 2 for 10 days, and so on) The actual workout is 20 mins I believe, but there is a short warm up before and cool down after.
I feel like because how short it is, it's very manageable.Good luck!
