Hi. Not really new to My Fitness Pal but never participated in any community discussions or support. I'm looking for advice, motivation, or any other methods to help get rid of this weight for good. I'm not like real overweight but could stand to lose 20 pounds or so. I run about 3 miles three to four times a week and have been on the Paleo eating plan for over a month. Just can't seem to drop more than two pounds. Can't figure it out!! Any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever done any body measurements? I've learned that numbers are kinda BS when going by the scale. Instead go by over all body mass, how you feel, and how your clothes fit. Look at the amount of sodium in your diet, as well as starchy foods, All of which will make you hold water weight and bloat. At least in my case anyway. Hope I helped a little. Sent a FR too.1

You need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Calories In < calories Out. Just switching to another way of eating does not guarantee this. You can be paleo, keto, vegetarian, vegan, raw, or whatever, and still gain weight if you are eating more than you're burning. And just working out also does not guarantee weight loss. It helps to increase the Calories Out side of the equation, but you'll still gain or maintain if you're not eating less than you burn.
Are you actually logging and tracking all of your foods? Have you input all of your stats into MFP and let it generate a calorie goal for you? Do you weigh and measure as many of the foods you eat as possible? If not, then that is where you need to start.1 -
Hey man. Quick question.. do you have any tracking device with you when you run? Like a fitbit? UA band? Apple watch? NikeId? If you do.. check your heart rate and also check your distance. You might be feeling running like 3 miles but really its not.. other thing is that your body is probably used to your exercise already that its not forcing your muscles to burn more.. maybe add some weightlifting? Or change the terrain where you run? Remember calorie intake/nutrition is the best way to lose the pounds you want. Strict yourself from eating more than what it is recommended for you to lose weight. Cut out the sugar in food and drinks. Eat more fibrous foods.. im not familiar with the different diets out there. Paleo,South Beach, heard of atkins. But i just stuck to eating healthy before.. I am trying to lose weight now again because I am to my heaviest right now.. what i am trying to do is get back to my healthy eating habits. Slowly cutting down my snacks and stuff. I hope my post helps..0

can you open up your diary please? (settings>diary settings>click on the public radio button)
that being said, just because you are eating paleo doesn't mean you will lose weight - you will maintain/gain if you aren't eating less calories that you are burning - in fact, when I did paleo several years ago I put like 10lbs on because I was falling for the eat everything mantra0
