We bought one over a year ago on Amazon and hated it. It wouldn't even cook the food completely. Likely a defective item, I'm sure. What brand did you purchase? I would be interested in trying a different one out!

Aren't "air fryers" essentially counter top convection ovens?

I bought a Big Boss air fryer about a month ago and absolutely love it! I've done wings, whole chicken, ribs, mozzarella sticks, you name it. They've all turned out crispy and tasty! Best investment yet!

Yes, they are a modification on a convection oven - they work on the same principle, but the airflow is a lot higher around the food. The results are pretty good, IMHO - not exactly like deep-frying in oil, but also a lot healthier. I bought it in November and have been pretty happy with it.

I'll probably be buying an Air Fryer next year when I get my own house. I would like one that cooks food for up to 4 people. Any brand suggestions?

I wondered this, I have a countertop convection oven which I LOVE, I don't know if an Air Fryer would do anything differently?

Bought one a few months ago at bed bath and beyond and I use it pretty regularly. It would never cook enough for 4 people and it does not make food as tasty as a deep fryer. The infomercial are misleading.
However, it's really good for doing baked chicken breast 10 minutes, reheating pizza, cooking frozen stuff and I have done wings,
mozzarella sticks, sandwiches in it too. To me it's more like a toaster oven than a fryer. So far I have left it on the counter and not stored it
away with the other "kitchen gadget" collection.
