The first step in achieving the body you desire is making the right choices. Let's be realistic here we are all human and we mess up from time to time. Avoid those sugary carbs or carbs high on the glycemic index during the day save them for after your workout. If your goal is to lose weight. Know your portion sizes, and get plenty of rest. If you need help please let me know, I like spreading knowledge.

I don't think it matters whether you eat sugary carbs before or after your workout ( if you do workouts)

If your goal is to lose weight you just eat less calories than you burn.

I eat carbs all day long, I have lost 25 pounds and holding. Maybe you meant be in caloric deficit in whatever macro split you like because that is how you lose weight. We are talking lifestyle changes.

That is true but if your blood sugar spikes to high the fat is going to be harder to burn.

ISSA, keep in mind if your goal is to lose weight. You will obviously eat according to your goals.

Unless you are diabetic your blood sugar is not going to significantly spike.

If you are diabetic, you need to limit sugary carbs anyway - so moot point about before or after workouts.

Well yes obviously, I thought that was self explanatory.

Indeed. I thought it was self explanatory too.

Which is why your comments about when to eat carbs and blood sugar spiking seemed pointless.

Put on your flack jacket OP, your audience here is brutal and will call you out on anything they disagree with

I just wanted to comment on the sugar spikes. One doesn't have to be a diabetic to get the sugar highs and then crashes. For me carbs beget more carbs and cravings, a side effect i am not alone in. I need to find the fine line between too many and not enough.. I am healthy, no diabetes or pre.

ISSA doesn't just accredit PT certs they have a lot more than that. I'm also a specialist in fitness nutrition as well.

I would say play with your splits and cycle between three different options throughout the week and see how your feel.

I know, I had a certification from another company. And to keep my certification, I had to yearly courses. It became too laborious and expensive, it is a very hard way to make a decent living. Sorry I was giving you a hard time. You have to be careful how you word your op's.

    Good luck.
