I drink one to two glasses of red wine a day. Since I am female one glass is probably better but anyway does anyone have an opinion on when is the best time of day to drink wine for the healthiest benifits, i.e. weight loss?

Anytime. I can have a glass with lunch or dinner as long as I stay within my calories limit.

Adding any food or drink to your daily calories will not help you lose weight, in fact just the opposite.

I enjoy a glass of wine or two as well. I tend to have one before dinner, and sometimes one with dinner.
There is no "best" time, as far as I know, weight loss wise.

As stated by others, anytime where you are not going over your calories and not drinking too much overall.

Hope that I'm misreading your post but you don't seriously think drinking red wine will actually help weight loss?

Drink it by all means but it has calories.

It was big woo news about a year ago, based on one study done on mice that resulted in a million 'news' articles titled 'Drink red wine to lose weight!'.

    Wow!
Was that about the time the word "Gullible" was removed from every dictionary?

Well I never. Scientific studies grossly misrepresented by the press? Never happens! Ahem.......

OP, there's no best time other than when you have the calories to fit it in. Two glasses a day probably is above the recommend maximum, at least if your glasses are anything like the size of my glasses.

    Never.*

Can't stand red wine, is revolting stuff.

    * answer applies to N=1, N = everybody else: whenever you like from a weight loss point of view. As long as you allow for the calories, of course.

If I'm drinking, I try to avoid calorie dense foods before/during/immediately because of the reason posted by @ninerbuff above.

In terms of weight loss, I think the best time to drink red wine would be just before bed. That way you will have no opportunity to replenish any fluids before your morning weigh in (assuming you empty your bladder before stepping on the scales), and the scales will reward your dehydrating ways.

It makes absolutely no difference when you drink it. Enjoy!

Well.. wine is extra calories with little to no satiety effect so the best for weight loss would be to switch it for a zero calorie beverage such as water. That would give you a greater deficit and therefore more weight loss (assuming you kept the rest of your calorie intake constant).

There is nothing magic about red wine that helps weight loss, if that was your question.

What wine may do for your heart it does the opposite for your liver so in terms of other health benefits... not sure there are any.
