Struggles: Check in everyday to log my food and water intake. Even though I don't eat a lot, the weight keeps creeping up as I get older. My main problems are not eating on a regular schedule, and not being able to exercise due to several health issues. (Lupus of the joints and Fibro). Plus, I'm recovering from Pneumonia right now, so exercise probably won't be happening for at least another couple of days.

Successes / struggles this week:
Successes: I lost 11 pounds, so I've already passed my goal for this month! I know most of that is water weight, but who cares, it's 11 pounds gone! I checked in everyday and logged my food and water, something I struggle with. I stay a lot more focused on what I'm eating when I know I HAVE to post it in my diary every evening.
Struggles: I'm still recovering from pneumonia, so exercise hasn't happened yet. Hopefully I'll be able to start walking, and get back into water aerobics (my 2 favorite exercises) this week. My main struggle will be making sure I don't gain any of those 11 pounds I lost back. With my health issues, my weight can fluctuate pretty dramatically in a week's time. I have a bad habit of going all day without eating, then eating a huge meal in the evening, which wrecks havoc with my metabolism. I've been concentrating on eating 5 to 6 small meals throughout the day, which is what my doctor recommended, and I think that's one of the main reasons I lost so much weight this past week.

Struggle: Lots of extra calories this weekend. Took our daughter and her boyfriend out to dessert. Split one with my hubby....but ate at least 1/3 of it. Then had ice cream yesterday. I have not been eating desserts or dairy. So....I am not feeling very good. Need to get back on track.

So I'm a total New Year's resolution cliche. January went well - I lost exactly what I aimed to (5 lb), but doing it again this month is going to take some resolve. This week went well. The weather it kind of awful, so exercise is more challenging (no bike to work option). I am proud of taking the time to look up calorie counts in treats and select something that both met my craving AND my calorie goal for yesterday - it involved making half the recipe for the mug cake, but it tasted great and then it was gone. No leftovers to tempt me.4 -

Successes / struggles this week: Um... wrong direction! haha. Between the Superbowl yesterday and currently TOM, I knew this first weigh in would not be good. BUT! I am determined to see an improvement overall. I still have 3 weeks to go. The hardest thing for me right now is getting back into a consistent exercise routine, that was what helped me the most last year this time.1 -

Mug cakes are my secret dessert weapon too! They make a single serving, with no leftovers to tempt me.1 -

I happened to hit a low last Tuesday at 209.8, so I had a bit of correction this past week hovering around 211, even up until yesterday. So I was surprised to drop to where I weigh today at 209.4.
I usually have a massive drop (5-7lbs) after ovulation, so I'll see where I am next week! I just have to trust the system and be patient!

Successes / struggles this week: Honestly I can't believe I lost anything with all the eating out for social events this week, plus Valentine's Day dinner this weekend. I tried to make good choices from the menu items but was still over some days. I did exercise three times this week and maybe that helped. All and all, I am pretty darn happy!5
