How bad an effect on weight loss does having a small glass of red wine with dinner each evening have?

If you fit it in your calorie goal, none at all.

If you work it into your calorie goal it won't have any effect.

If you are under your calories for the day and have room, then none what so ever. If you are over then it is not going to help. I don't look too hard at macros, but wine is just empty calories. I drink at a weekend if I have the room, and in the week but don't tell anybody (Though I weigh and log it, always).

And red wine has more antioxidants than green tea!

It would only affect your weight loss if it puts you over your calorie goal. It isn't about what specific things you eat/drink, but the overall amount of calories consumed in your diet.

As long as you don't drink the whole bottle. And then eat everything in the pantry, that is. (*Not speaking from experience ;) )
