Cross trainer

I am trying to do 45-60 minutes of interval training on the cross trainer 3 x per week. . . is this as effective as running?
I have damaged a tendon, so cannot do my usual classes or lift weights for a while! :-(
Any advice would be appreciated. :-)

If your goal is purely for calorie burning then the cross trainer (mimicking skiing) can be an effective alternative.
However, if your goal is to become a good runner then not particularly and you will work your muscles slightly differently between the 2. If you are only using it until you recover then there shouldn't be a problem but try mixing it up later with other pieces of equipment.0 -
Thanks. I have never been much of a runner, so it's really for a cardio workout. I may start running when I feel brave enough!!!0
