i love making new oatmeal recipes because breakfast is my favorite meal of the day...

Pumpkin Butter Oatmeal:

1/2 cup of quick cooking oats (follow the instructions on the box-i think its 1cup of water)
a pinch of salt
1 tablespoon of pumpkin butter
Cinnamon & Nutmeg

Microwave to your liking...
Add a little maple syrup(sugarfree if youd like) to sweeten...to your liking
1 more tablespoon of pumpkin butter
stir everything together & add 1 tablespoon of of toasted walnuts(i toast the walnuts in the toaster oven-only takes a minute)
add a little milk on top

Chocolate Peanut butter Cocoa Oatmeal:

1/2 cup of quick cooking oats(& 1 cup of water)
1/2 packet of sugarfree hot cocoa
a little maple syrup to sweeten to your liking
microwave to your liking...
add a little milk
mix in 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
Sprikle with walnuts
**you could even add 1/2 of a banana

Carrot cake Oatmeal:

Shred 1/2 of a carrot or a few baby carrots
chop up or shred a few chunks of pineapple

make the quick cooking oats in the microwave(1/2 cup + 1 cup water) with the shredded carrot and pineapple a little cinnamon and nutmeg
sweeten with maple syrup if needed
sprinkle top with 1 tablespoon of unsweetened shredded coconut
(you could also add raisins if ya want)

Frosting Topping:
take about an ounce of plain non fat greek yogurt & added a little maple syrup then put it ontop of the oatmeal and added some chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal:

Make the quick cooking oats with 1/2 water and 1/2 coffee or all coffee depending on how strong you like it
sweeten with maple syrup or whatever sweetener you prefer
add 1 teaspoon or 1/2 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
cook in microwave...
add some walnuts to the top
(you could also add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and a 1/2 of a banana would taste good also)

Peaches and Cream Oatmeal:

cut up a whole peach the night before and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, put in fridge overnight(could also do this with apples)
use quick cooking oats but dont add the water to it
instead...add 1/2 cup of fiber one cottage cheese and add a few tablespoons of water, add the peach and stir
microwave to your liking

After consuming oatmeal several times daily in combination with just about everything imaginable over the past decade or more, I think I have finally acquired a taste for the stuff plain - and actually enjoy it that way. It's taken a long time to get to this point!

If you haven't tried steel cut oats, you might enjoy them for a change; they have a different texture when cooked than rolled oats.

The best part about it, however you doctor it, is its absolutely amazing ability to lower cholesterol levels.
  • Wow ! I know what I will eat tomorow for breakfeast !!!!
Thank you SO much for those recipes !
