im 4ft 11 and find 1200 too restrictive . Im thinking maybe increase to 1500 a day . Has any shorties had any success with eating around this amount ? Im 8st 13, goal weight 8st . Age 29 and exercise around twice a week for about 30 min x

I'm 5'4, and I eat 1500 calories a day, but I exercise most days. 3 days of strength and cardio and three days of cardio with one rest day a week. Other than my exercise I'm so sedentary that a sloth would be envious so I need those workouts. 1200 calories a day makes me cranky! I'm 158lbs and I don't know what that is in stone.1

i'm 5'3 and eat 1500 - 1800 i don't work out2

I'm 5'3" and try to stay around 1450/day. I also workout 4-5 days a week. 1200 is way too low for me.0

I've been in maintenance for a while but decided to lose a few pounds so I dropped to 1450 calories. I'm 5'2.5" and weigh 127. My goal is 120. I was maintaining at around 1700.0

I was able to do 1200 while losing (5' 1/2"), but everyone's different. Maintenance for me is 1450.0

I think I may need to up mine daily calories ... I usually am still hungry when trying to stay within my goal for the day and have been going above it lately. I'm 5'3"0

i probably eat around 1500 most days but i also work out most days (im 5'1)0

It depends on how large a calorie deficit that creates for a person. A 4'11" female who's really active during her day (even without deliberate exercise), would likely lose well on 1500 calories because due to her activity level she needs more like 2000+ to maintain.
I'm 4'11". About 5 years ago, I ate 1400-1500 calories a day and dropped from 109 lbs to 100 in about 6 weeks. I had an active job though and outside of that also walked about 1.5 miles a day and was using a Beachbody workout.
At my current activity level, (comatose sloth) I would probably lose weight very slowly with a 1500 calorie diet, maybe 1 pound a month.1 -

I'm 5'2" and I have been upping my calories from 1200 to 1500. I exercise (walk/run) for around 90mins-120mins per day. I am just about to start strength training.
If I didn't exercise I would be totally sedentary (I work from home in the winter) .1 -

I'm 4'10, 126 lb. MFP calculator gives me 1490 net calories for maintenance & 1240 for 0.5 lb/wk loss (my current setting). After checking recent data for the last 1-1/2 months, I've been losing ~1.3 lb/wk on average so I could increase that. I rarely have days where I don't get in some exercise though, so I normally eat more than that. Any time I go over or am tempted to go over, it's because there is something tasty I want, not because I'm actually hungry, so I don't plan on adjusting it up in the near future.

5'3", 150lbs and I maintain on 1950 a day1

5'8" male (not necessarily making me a shorty) but I find 1200 to be just right for me and I am losing about 1.5 pounds per week. However I have to manually override the Apps Calorie levels as it caps me at a 1500 calories limit.1

5'3" and averaging 1450. Changed my rate of loss from 2lbs/week to 1.5lbs/week and my calories were increased from 1300 to 1450. Still averaging approximately 2lbs/week since I don't eat back many if any of my exercise calories. It's working for me now because I have over 60+lbs to lose but will definitely need to reassess as I get closer to my goal.

I'm 5' and eat 1450 x day. I weight train 60 mins. per day 6 days a week and weigh about 118 lbs. in a bulk1

I'm 5'1 and eat between 1500-1700 calories a day. I try to pole dance 2x a week and lift 2x a week. If I can fit in more I do, but sometimes I can only workout 3x a week due to my schedule.0

There is nothing wrong with trying. There is a success story from someone who was 4'11 and ate 2000 to maintain her goal weight (as such she would lose about 1 lb a week on 1500).
I'm 5'4.5" and lost weight eating around 2000 calories a day (which seems to be more than most my height). For that reason I say try it. You won't know how your body responds till you do.0 -
I don't know what a stone is off the top of my head.
I'm 4'11 and eating a smidge under 2000 calories (I live in a metric country so to me it's in kilojoules) plus eat back half of my exercise calories. I'm breastfeeding an almost 7 month old but I wouldn't eat under 1500 calories anyway as it sucks.
I've lost 8kg since Christmas day.1 -
I'm 5'4" and maintain around 1800 calories anywhere in the 120-140s ( I change weight a lot). 1500 for me doesn't leave much wiggle room. I end up doing 1200 a few days per week, and a couple higher days because I can't swing 1200 on a Saturday. It evens out to about 1500 and I will lose very slowly. That .5lbs per week.1

Add me! I am breastfeeding and exercising and if I don't eat some of those calories I end up starving. Having a hard time controlling cravings and hunger lately as baby needs more and more milk. She is 5 months old.0

My fitness coach has me on a 1500 calorie on day I don't exercise or when I do cardio and 1800 when I lift weights.and im 5 foot. It's going to be hard.0
