Hi!
I love MFP! I have been using it for over a month and exercising consistently but have only lost 5 lbs... What am i doing wrong? Eating too much? Not Eating enough? Calories too high for my goal?
Assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

5lbs in a month is awesome.
You're just expecting too much too soon. Over 1lb a week is a great rate to lose weight at.10 -
I second the above! That's a great weight loss, you should be proud of yourself
Keep being motivated and carry on!

How fast were you expecting to lose?
that's a great result. You need to adjust your expectations.

While I agree with those saying 5lbs is a great weight loss, I also took a look at your diary.
It doesn't look like you're using a food scale? You've logged "1 banana" and a "tbsp of mayo", along with many other things that are measured either in cups or spoons rather than grams. You will be able to know more about your intake if you'll get a food scale and use it for everything but liquids. Even mayo, etc along with packaged items are better weighed than measured. Packages are often 20-30% off on weight vs stated serving:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnnpUYmr0OM

What is your starting weight and what is your goal weight?CattOfTheGarage wrote: »How fast were you expecting to lose?

I would like to know how much you where expecting to lose too. Most professional organizations recommend 1-2 pounds a week. Anymore then that and you are likely losing muscle in addition to fat, and are at risk for loose skin.2 -

Weight loss is not linear. It's normal to lose some weeks, stay the same or even gain other weeks... as long as the general trend is loss over time. Sometimes I only lose weight for 1 week out of every month... it has to do with hormones and water retention I think.2 -

i think my expectations are not realistic, as my weight gain is a result of getting off prescribed adhd meds that i had been on for many years... When i was diagnosed and started meds, the weight literally fell off and i was able to maintain it for years, after i lost all that weight... Im much happier now and probably healthier, overall, just not used to this weight gain and body change..0 -

Notice the spikes and dips and plateaus? Also I didn't even log most of my weight fluctuations, it went up and down a lot more than this actually
but the general trend over time is the important thing.

I was logging mine in an excel spreadsheet - but I just started doing mine in MFP in the am (or rather on my FITBIT and then it populates MFP)0
