Slimming Down before my holiday

Hey everyone!
So I'm going on holiday to Orlando for 2 weeks on the 2nd April and would really like to slim down beforehand so I feel a bit more confident in more 'summery' clothes. I've been exercising 3-4 times a week (Doing a fitness blender or 30 day shred video) since the start of January, as well as using the calorie tracker to keep account of my calories and eat a bit better (aside from a few slip ups or meals out for birthdays etc.) and have managed to lose the weight I gained over the Christmas holidays.
Now my holiday is 6 weeks away and I still feel like I have quite a lot of weight to lose before I'm happy with the physical appearance of my body. I am currently 133lbs (5ft 4) and would ideally like to be at 120lbs before I start to think about switching to weight maintenance rather than loss. My body isn't awful by any means however I do carry the majority of my weight in my legs and have rather large thighs, as well as an annoying belly pouch that doesn't want to budge!
So basically my question is, what do you think is a realistic goal for me to aim towards in terms of weight loss by the time my holiday comes around? I realise you can't spot reduce but does anyone have any tips in reducing stubborn leg fat? And just general tips about how I can more easily shed the weight because it just seems to be coming off so slowly at the moment?
Bonus Question: Undoubtedly 2 weeks in Florida means I won't be eating as healthy as I could be, so does anyone have some advice on how to prevent putting back on all the weight I lost leading up to the holiday?
Sorry for the long question, Thanks!

Well you are already at a good weight for your height - so weight loss would be slow without going with too deep of a calorie deficit.
You can aim to lose .5lb a week (so 250 calorie per day deficit) to lose fat and strength train to improve body composition.
While the results won't be too drastic in this time frame - it can help. Your leg fat will leave as you lose more weight.
While on vacation, you can watch your portions, look up nutritional information, and maybe get some exercise in by walking lots.1 -
Hypothetical question:
If you didn't lose all the weight, would you not be happy in Orlando?4 -
Thanks Sammy, great advice! (convincing my boyfriend to not hire a car so we are forced to walk more! (Our hotel is in the midst of everything so I really don't see a point getting a car)
Dan thats a good question. Honestly I do think I would be very happy and have a really good time, it's just that I'm not completely confident wearing shorts/other sort of clothes for the hot weather and so I do think there'll be some moments where I'm not feeling too good about myself. Saying that, I think this is only going to be a short lived thing in the morning when I'm getting dressed for the day, and once I'm out I'll hopefully be far too busy enjoying myself to be focussing on my own silly inhibitions!3 -
Re the leg fat - I realise not everyone has the time, but since my husband died almost a year ago I've been walking 5 or 6 miles a day with my dogs to alleviate anxiety. I'm still carrying a bit of excess weight elsewhere from comfort eating while he was ill, but last week I suddenly realised that my legs are slimmer and toned, an unexpected side effect. So keep walking, and enjoy your holiday with your lovely man. X2

In all honesty will be amongst the smallest people there and like you say, once you're out you mostly forget all about it. But I get it, I had a lot of anxiety about wearing shorts out there last year (I was a lot bigger than you though) but it's just different to at home. At least for me it is.
I'm back in April too and I am feeling a lot more confident about shorts but even if I was in the same place I was last year, I'd go and have a blast regardless. Just carry on as you are and see where you are at the time. the holiday is going to happen regardless so may as well resolve to just enjoy it.0 -
lindymacl - so sorry to hear about your husband, thank God you have your dogs with you to help! Walking is actually a great idea, sounds so silly but i've never considered just walking to Uni every day instead of getting the bus, or walking into town when the weather isn't terrible. Thank you for the advice! x
VintageFeline - Completely agree with you there, such a tricky mindset to get out of but I'm not about to let my own insecurities get in the way of an amazing holiday! I just need to remind myself that I have seen people a lot bigger than myself in shorts and skirts etc. but have never thought "ew they shouldn't be wearing that" or anything negative - i just don't really take notice of it, so any other decent human being wouldn't think that sort of thing about me either. Thanks for easing my mind!1 -

I'm so sorry for your loss.

It is short lived. Honestly, nobody really pays attention to what other people are wearing whole on vacation. Dress for comfort and f&#k what others think. Chances are you look amazing in anything you put on.
Another question, a little more psychologically inclined:
What's that inner dialogue like when you begin to feel that way?0 -
I'm 5'4" with fatty legs, and have been 133. It took my until about 128 to slim them down and that took me about 3 months to do. (I'm 143 in my pic though).0

You could lose 3 or 4 pounds but I wouldn't try for more. I agree with others, try and keep up the activity while you are away - but don't make it an obsessive exercise and healthy eating trip. Indulge yourself and enjoy it! You will not gain much and there will be plenty of time to lose it when you get home.0
