Seeing veins

I'm starting to see veins in my arms. I assume that's normal? Weird.

Like they're visible through your skin or are they actually pumped (bulging)? My veins get prominent if I've been bouldering or working out but otherwise I can just see them through my skin.

If you are lifting weights or working out your arms and you see veins it is normal. Blood rushes to the area to fuel the muscles so that same blood needs to leave the area to head back to the lungs. So you veins get big. I can see the veins on my arm most of the time, but after a good upper body workout they look like they are going to burst.

I call it hulking out

Just losing weight - and I guess fat has been hiding muscles and veins. So starting to notice them - and started lifting weights a few weeks ago - but don't feel "muscular" yet - or "hulked out".
