I'm maintaining my weight and trying to build a toned body. I've been doing mostly Pilates and dance. But what's a good diet? Especially for people on a budget ? What are some of your guys workout routines and diet recipes ? Share some tips and suggestions. I would love to know, thank you ❤

Congrats on your success my first point is to build a tone body you definitely want to do some weight lifting it will definitely help you more than doing aerobics and cardio work. The cardio is important but I think you'll burn more calories doing weight lifting then cardio.

As far as my weight/cardio routine, I do Tony Horton P90X, P90 and the new version of P90. I've been eating maybe one to 200 calories a day over my limit and really increase my protein intake to about 80% of my body weight minimum and I haven't gained any weight since I've started to maintain. I also have noticed that since I increase my protein level and my caloric intake over what my maintenance calories should be I've developed more muscle definition and I'm seeing more of a cut with my muscles.

To put things in perspective I lost about 80 pounds over a period of eight months. For the past seven months I have maintained my weight within 5 pounds and it's been fairly consistent.

As far as your diet. Don't look at it as a diet. diets suck. The reason I succeeded this was I never went on a diet I just lowered my calories. I ate whatever I wanted as long as it's within my calorie limit. I still eat Wendy's hamburgers the occasional slice of pizza and I still enjoy a couple beers every once in awhile. Eat what you enjoy and you don't have to give up anything.

In my book a good diet is a balanced diet.

To do this on a budget you can limit your variety, buy in bulk on sale, cycle through a few time tested recipes (home cooked is nearly always cheaper) and pick frozen fruit and veggies over fresh (reduce spoilage).

For budget stuff, whole chickens are nice, but for convenience, you can simply buy bulk chicken breasts. Freeze them, and move them to fridge one day before you eat. Probably best bang for your buck for protein/calorie ratio depending on where you live.

Rice is cheap where I live, and love it, so its my carb to go.

    Season veggies are always good.

As for workout 5x5 strong lifts are nice. It will give you an amazing foundation for muscle growth.

So yeah depends on where you live and whats cheap. My go to stuff are usually chicken fried rice, turkey stuff, pb&j sandwiches, a lot spinach, eggs etc etc.

    budget items
eggs, beans, frozen veggies, wholegrain rice, one cabbage shredded with couple of carrots can last few days in the fridge and gives you cheap and satisfying veggies

I go by aim for half plate with veggies, quarter of protein and carbs
