I need help. If you looked at me you would never guess I weigh as mush as I do. I've never been able to really figure out what I'm suppose to weight. At 5'2 I have never been able to weight what is recomended. Even at my most skinny time (at 15) size 27 pants I weighed in the 125lb pound. I go from size 12 to 14 and have weighed the same since I had my son 18 yrs ago. I can eat whatever or nothing and it doesn't seem to change anything. I may go up a few pounds or down a few but thats it. I have not worked at my regular job for over a month I just sit in front of my computer and I have been doing taxes. I have not changed my eating habits and I have not gained or loss. Before doing this I worked in drywall finishing very physical labore didn't loss any weight. Gained more muscle and thined out. I'm very muscler and alway have been. But I just can't understand why this fat that I have stored just will not leave me. Can anyone help

Welcome to the board and good luck on your journey. I only know what has worked for me because I am by no means a fitness expert. For me, consistency has been the key. A regular work out schedule and a healthy diet. Research the best ways for you to get healthy and the weight will take care of itself. Hope that helps!0

Hi Darlin, welcome! Yes, people can help you here. But your best help will be to read a lot of the posts and research things on your own as well. I have learned mostly from trial and error, that what works for one person here, may not work for another. The basics I believe work for everyone. Water is my best "friend". I hated it and now drink atleast 64 ounces, and, that is not even good enough so I almost always get 96 ounces per day. I eat more meals, and so, smaller portions. I eat from the 5 basic food-groups but I do avoid red-meats just for personal preference. I buy foods that are 20-25 % fat only. I exercise regularly, just walking works for me, and so I need to fuel my body. To lose weight(fat)we need to fuel our bodies, not deprive them Oh yeah, I got rid of junk food from my house. If I don't buy it, I don't eat it. I have found lots of yummy snacks here and from other friends as well. A snack is a meal also. The food diary is priceless and will help keep you on track. I still have lots to learn here and it is a great place to gather with others that are likeminded about health and fitness. So glad you are here, denise in Sams Valley ORI need help. Welcome! You're at the right place, as there's a ton of information here (you can type in the search area the content that you are looking for).
Also, the tools are super. That's where I'm getting the most benefit, by tracking and learning my behaviors in exercise and in diet.
Stay open to learning new things, and focus on your effort rather than the win/loss of weight for now.
For me, I liken my fat to that of a stick of butter (not whipped). I've got it around my waistline, and it's a major battle to get this stuff off...but I've joined the MFP to be successful in achieving and maintaining my goals.
It's a team thing here...so enjoy!!! :happy:0 -
