Water retention from lack of exercise?

I apologize for the absolute terrible phrasing of the question but:
Basically, I usually do some cardio and strength training about 3 times a week but, I went through a period where I did not do any vigorous exercise or strength training for a roughly 8-12 days. Then, I restarted exercising 3 times a week from last week.. However, after a period of accurately logging calories and doing this amount of exercise I only resulted in a loss of 0.2lb where previous weeks I would lose anywhere from 1lb to 2lb ( I know a loss is a loss) But, my question is even though I took a relatively 'short' break from exercising does the body need to go through a process of muscle repair and water retention again? even if i'm doing the same exercises
I'm trying to dechipher if there is a possibility my body is holding onto water weight!

I eat roughly 1,260 - 1,300 calories and am 5ft4.. if that plays any role in an answer

Probably quite a silly question.. but, it was something that was playing on my mind :)

Thanks!

All I know is I took a break from squats for a week while I let my leg heal (I hit it really hard against something) and when I added them back in my legs were sore for 3 days.

The answer is it is likely you are retaining water because of starting back at your exercise. Of course that is assuming your logging of food is accurate.
