Lost Weight on P90X Lean?

I'm supposed to be starting P90X with my husband on August first. He's looking to bulk up so he'll do the regular schedule, but as I have a significant amount of weight to lose I was planning to do the Lean plan instead of the standard one.
Has anyone out there had notable weight-loss doing P90X lean, or did you mostly tone without seeing the scale drop?

You'll lose weight if you have reduced calories while doing the workouts. He'll have to eat excessive calories to bulk up. You'll lose weight simply from getting your HR up and adding strength training, regardless of the name on the DVD.0

I lost 32 pounds in two rounds doing the Classic Program.
I highly suggest you do that rather than the lean. the program was designed that way. the lean was a complete afterthought.
You need the weight lifting to help maintain lean muscle mass while on a calorie restricted diet. the more lean mass you have the more fat you'll burn.
You will get much better results on the Classic program!

You can use the search feature to find people that have done P90X Lean. I did P90X classic with my husband and lost 24 pounds during the first 90 Days. I was usually taking in 1,700- 1800 calories a day. It is possible to just do the same program that your husband is doing and still lose fat and tone up.0

I did the lean version my first 90 days and I did not see significant weight loss, although I did slim down. I think you will get better results following the classic program...if you worried about not bulking up, just be sure to use a little lighter weight and do 12 to 15 reps for each exercise. He addresses that in each DVD too. Have fun ~ P90X is a program I keep going back to. I love the results!!0

I did p90x lean version and loved it! I stuck to it like they asked you too with the program. I ate between 1500-1800 calories a day and after 90 days I had lost 20 pounds. It was a great way to get myself in the groove of working out and eating right. I tried to do the classic version but was bored so I got into running. I have continued to lose weight by eating healthy and running. I am now down 33 pounds.
Don't get discouraged if you start the program and don't see dramatic results within the first few weeks because your body is adjusting to all the changes. In the first month I only saw about 5 pounds, second month same thing. I was so disappointed that it was not working but then I read all of these post from other people that said you see the most results in the third month. That is exactly what happen for me. In my third month I lost 10 more pounds.0 -
I did the classic version and lost about 23lbs. I would suggest you do the classic0

Thanks everyone. My husband would certainly be happier for me to do the classic along with him. He's started and quit twice before but knows that if I start it I will finish it, so he will too (or be embarrassed that his wife made it through P90X and he didn't! lol).0

It will be great if you two do that together. My husband and I have completed four rounds of the X together.0
