My BSR is 1288 and according to MFP I need to consume at least 1200 calories a day.
Therefore I do not create much of a deficit to lose weight.
What can I do to lose weight? Should I eat less than 1200?

Your BMR is the minimum you need to eat. Enter your stats into MFP, set a reasonable weight loss goal (depending on how much you need to lose) and eat that number. MFP gives you a goal to eat that doesn't include exercise calories, so if you exercise, you need to account for that and eat more.

Don't go under 1200 unless you're very short, super sedentary, or elderly.

Alternatively, you can plug your stats into a TDEE calculator which will count all your energy expenditure including exercise, and minus 20% to begin with.

Based on your profile picture, I would say that you don't need to lose any weight. But with that being said, keep in mind that MFP is giving you a number without taking exercise into account. Even if your NEAT is 1200 calories it would be possible to eat at least 1200 calories and lose weight if you are exercising because the exercise would burn additional calories. Don't eat less than 1200 calories on a regular basis. You need the nutrients from the food.

I am not sure what BSR is. Do you mean BMR?

What is your starting weight and what is your goal?

You need to give more information.

Age, height, weight, activity level, exercise etc etc.
