What do you eat / drink to give you a boost of energy in the morning? I am limiting my sugar intake and I can't have caffeine due to a health problem.

Well, I drink coffee/caffeine. Carbs can give me a boost for like 30 minutes but some people get more out of it than that....I really don't know what would do it besides coffee or a caffeine pill if it's not carbs or sugar.

What kind of boost do you need? You super tired? Is your deficit very aggressive otherwise? Are you sleeping well or taking any kind of sleeping supplement?

I use a green powder drink in the am. Several brands are very low carbs 5g per serving (with a high fiber content 4g). They give me a ton of energy. If you can tolerate 1/2 cup of lower carb fruit i.e. blackberrries, strawberries, blueberries--then blend them with the greens, water or sugar free nut milk for a breakfast smoothy full of nutrition.

Any food at all boosts my energy  but I usually stick with oatmeal or eggs/wholemeal toast first thing.

A piece of candy or a hot drink (usually water+protein powder) help me sometimes.
