Marathon advice

Hi guys, wondered if anyone could help me out here please.
I have just heard about a charity even that's taking place in just under 5 months. It's a night time marathon WALK. I would love to enter it but I was just wondering if I'm being realisitic in thinking I would be able to get myself fit enough in 5 months? I'm 161lbs, 5"3 and not in the best of shape :ohwell: . I started exercising on Monday doing cardio 3 days a week and toning 2 days a week. Should I go for it or am I being totally stupid?
here is the site if anyone wouldl like to take a look:

Any help would be much appreciated

I definitely think that you can do it! It's a walk so you wouldn't have to worry about all the impact that running involves. I say go for it, keep up with your cardio and strength training and you'll be fine. I'd say walk the miles though. I'm training for a marathon that is in 3 months, I run almost everyday but I have to make sure I get in those long runs on the weekends. Start slow, but you should get to walking 23 or so miles which is totally possible, I can run up to 17 miles now and I never thought I'd be able to do that, GOOD LUCK!
