Accurate calories on machines

Would you say halving the amount of calories cardio machines say I burn would be more accurate? I know they tend to over count. I've even been putting my weight in as 10lbs lighter than I actually am lately. I figured that would help. My heart rate is always above 157.

Depends on the machine, the ones at my gym seem pretty accurate (match what it says online and they're not too far off my HRM).

My old exercise bike used to tell me I was burning 3000+ calories over 45 minutes lol

    Some are some aren't.
Machines that give you a measured power output probably more accurate. Some can be very accurate.

Halving an estimate that you don't know is accurate or not doesn't improve the accuracy - just makes the number smaller.

Heart rate isn't a great guide to calories either.
