I hate when the scale goes back up.

I have when i log a weight loss and then the scale goes back up and then it goes up and down for like 2 weeks. I work out every day and hit my calorie goals. It drives me crazy. Its like it goes down to your lowest then goes back up 4 pounds then just toys with you for like 2 weeks. I weigh myself in the morning same time after using the bathroom. So aggravating. Okay rant over. I know about fluctuation. Still suck. Anyone else? I still have 40 more pounds to lose. Down 30 so far.

Yes and my scales sync automatically so sometimes when I know it will be up due to haven't eaten late or excessive weekend I'll skip weighing in for a few days to try let some of the water weight go first. My newsfeed is full of posts about how I've lost the same 1-2 kg over and over for the month only down about 1 kg for the last month but its been posted about 5times. Havent got around to turning that off yet.

Get over the hate thing, it's a fact of life, and happens to every single person. That what it means when we say "weight loss is not linear". For me the key was weighing daily, tracking the ups and downs, and learning exactly what my body's patterns are. Now I can predict many of my fluctuations.

I hate it too, but i try and push it out of my mind and not let it dishearten me.

There are many mornings where i have this look on my face when the scale numbers arent doing what i expect of them.

All of this. OP, I suggest you get used to it because your weight will continue to fluctuate even when you're in maintenance. As stated, it's simply a fact of life that our weight is never static.

I hate that it isn't Saturday every day :|

I hate even more that it's Monday right now...

(And my scales are obviously upset with me... no other explanation for that 1kg gain today)

If daily fluctuations can lead you to bingeing, then perhaps weighing daily is not the best for you. How about twice a month, or monthly?

I always give myself a little pep talk before I step on the scale. "Okay, you know weight loss is not linear. If it goes down, that will be exciting. If it doesn't, you can handle it. You've done everything right, and if it doesn't go down today, it WILL go down." Positive self-talk really helps me.

I find it kind of fascinating. Sometimes for funsies I track how things change over a day. But I'm weird like that, it would be disordered behaviour for a lot of people, especially if their emotions and eating habits are tied to what that number is.

I ate a feast of Japanese food on Saturday, Sunday I was a good 2lbs up. Carbs and sodium. Spent all day yesterday peeing. Back down to my current low this morning.

It happens. I'd try to get over it emotionally impacting you. It's fine to be a little frustrated with the number if it's a brief frustration. Dwelling on it isn't healthy or fun.

I hear ya. Having a bad week and a half with the scale. Trying to get under 258 and have been bouncing around it since Feb 15. Lowest 257.3 last Friday but 258.2 this morning. It means a lot to me because 258 is a BMI of 35 and being under it means I'm Obese class I instead of class II.

I know it will drop off, but it is really pissing me off right now.

This issue pretty much made me quit WW. I have migraines and when they kick in all I can tolerate is soup. So of course I gain from salt. So I went to weigh in and of course I was up. No biggie, I knew why. But the receptionist treated me like I needed to give her a detailed explanation. I walked on out of there and haven't looked back. It's water weight, it comes off.

One thing that's kept me grounded is when I see the scale go up, I do the math on how many calories I would have had to have eaten to get there. I know full well I didn't eat that amount (most times lol), so I know it'll come back down. Someone posted this a while back and I keep going back to it. Doesn't mean it's not frustrating through.
