I've just started doing Zumba (at home) and am wondering approximately how many calories I'm burning??? The exercise database on this website doesn't have anything for Zumba specifically. Any ideas?

I'll be doing Zumba soon - interesting question. Wondering if you could enter it under Dancing on the database?

Thanks for posting that Zumba calorie site. I used it to look up my workouts, too. Maybe if enough of us add them in it will show up in the database one day! :)

Speaking of Zumba, I need to get up and do some. lol

I used my HRM in class last week and for me it's about 550 for an hour class
and that website said it should be around 700-800 which was way off.

One of my friends on here uses a HRM for Zumba, also, but her readings are pretty close to the ones on here and I have seen others who have said they are pretty close, too. Also, using a HRM may be a better estimate but it is still an estimate.

I agree with the 550 for 1 hour class. I confirmed several times with a heart rate monitor.

it is probably best to be conservative with that site and just use the estimates from the "low intensity" setting which gives me 576 for 1 hour.
