Can someone please help me figure out how many grams of salt comes out of this salt shaker with every shake? I usually shake around 6 times at dinner. Is that a lot?

It's hard to say if you aren't actually weighing it. But unless you have a medical reason to watch your salt/sodium intake, I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't salt much at all ... but if I do, I use the absolute smallest measuring spoon I have, measure it and then dump it in my hand and only use about 1/2 of what I measure ... I'm not a huge salt person though.

Zero out a scale with a container on it and shake the salt into it. One tsp of table salt is approximately 2300mg of sodium. As for it being a lot, that really is dependent on the individual and whether or not you are on a sodium restrictive diet due to medical reasons. I have cardiomyopathy and limit my sodium intake to 1500mg as directed by my cardiologist.
