Hi Everyone ;) I'm new on here and have over 100 pounds to lose (actually it's more like 150lbs) Anyway, I've purchased some exercise DVDS to help me get started. The thing I want to know is my sister has lost 100 pounds in the last 7 months and she's done this with a combination of healthy eating and working out. She does the 10 minute solutions kettlebell ultimate fat burner a few times a week which is basically made up of 10 minute workouts with kettlebells.....you choose how many 10 minute workouts you want to do each time, you can 1 - 5 each time. I was wondering if anyone knows how many calories each 10 minute segments burn.....its clearly working for my sister as she's covered in sweat and totally knackered after doing 3 or 4. Would really appreciate some advice here as it doesn't state in MFP exercise database this workout.

It depends on loads of stuff like your age, weight, intensity of workout etc and the only way to tell for sure is to buy a HRM. But you could just try logging it as some sort of aerobic exercise. I always underestime exercise calories where I can and over estimate food calories, just to be on the safe side. Good luck

I'm so irritated that KettleWorx hasn't been added to the exercise options yet. I just started the 6 week program yesterday. I've been wondering how many calories it burns too. Good luck with it!

Medicine net.com quotes that Kettlebells burns a massive 20 cals per minute. Thats 1200 per hour. I would suggest halving this (its very easy to over estimate) and using that to work out your calories, so 10 calories per min = 100 per ten min workout. This is the rate I use, As Katy says, only way to know for sure is to get a HRM. Good Luck ;)
