Losing weight but gaining acne?

I've lost 17 pounds since January 1st (YAY!) but I noticed that right after I started my journey, I was breaking out. Nothing too serious but I went from not really having acne issues to waking up every other day finding a new friend on my freakin face. It's not super horrible but it's not fun either and they hurt and it's frustrating. I started checking over my new eating habits and doing a bit of research. Found that dairy can be a culprit and I was eating a lot of dairy (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.) so I have cut down on the dairy. It may be too soon to tell but I cut back about 2 weeks ago and I'm still seeing new occurrences, even this morning. I guess what I'm looking for is to see if anyone else has had this problem or may be able to shed some light on it for me so I can figure this thing out. Could it be hormones? I read somewhere that fat cells contain hormones or something and losing weight might effect those hormone levels. Something like that... I've also read that losing weight doesn't cause acne, so I'm pretty lost, getting conflicting information from different sources. Help?

I have some acne recently also, which isn't common for me. I figured it was my PCOS or stress.
But yeah, hormones can cause acne.0 -
I've been having issues as well, in a place that I've never really had problems with it before. I haven't figured out the cause of mine yet0

I have a Mia 3 I use to consistency clean out my pores/exfoliate every few days.. o-o I went down 100lbs+, never had issues. Wonder if that helped. I'm very anal about my pore health, as I can visually see them clogged/etc.0

I am a very clean person, I have been using only witch hazel for the past 4 years 2-3 times daily to clean my face, it's always done well for me. I also exfoliate once a week and I've been doing that for a few years too. Like I said, in my adult life, I never really had issues with acne. Nothing has changed except for my eating habits. I tried proactive when I was younger, it didn't really help me, in fact I think it left me with a couple of permanent anomalies on my face, like a tiny blister-like bump right above my eyebrow that occurred while I was using it (at least 6 years ago) and to this day is still there. I also read about weight loss regulating hormones but I also read that it shouldn't be a long term thing. I'm going on 9 weeks of weight loss and I'm still getting new break outs. My last resort will be to see a dermatologist.0
