Officially 10lbs lost from when I started my weight loss journey on 1/2/17 I'm enjoying this slow weight loss approach. I don't have to go on any diets to lose weight. I don't have to go to the gym everyday to lose weight. I can walk and count my steps, eat what I enjoy in moderation, count my calories and still lose weight. Now this is sustainable! I'm easily bored eating the same meals. So I enjoy experimenting in my kitchen and cooking meals from different countries. I'm looking forward to starting my weekday weight training. I know I have muscles somewhere I've just never seen them I'm enjoying this slow weight loss approach. I don't have to go on any diets to lose weight. Still not 100% because of throat infection a few weeks ago. I still have a bit of asthma symptoms. Hopefully I can return to the gym sometime this week.5

            It's been a challenging week.
I bought a new scale, (one that works this time), and it turns out that my relationship with gravity is about 5 lbs stronger than I thought.
I started using the scale on March 1, when the discrepancy was discovered. So I went back and adjusted all my numbers up by 5 lbs. in MFP and Garmin Connect.
Logically, I know that I didn't mysteriously gain 5 lbs overnight, but psychologically I feel like I've got 5 lbs to lose 'again'. I guess it just means I'm 5 lbs farther from my goal than I thought I was.
Couple that with being STUCK and I'm not the happiest of campers this week. Trying to keep it in perspective, the scale is 'just a number' and my clothes and my body are telling me more positive things.
This month I'm going to post my average as of each Sunday, as it does show the overall trend more accurately than the weight in one day. My old scale only registered whole lbs. The new one does tenths also, so I get a more accurate reading. It also does body analysis. Not sure how accurate all that is but it's interesting to check those numbers occasionally (I don't do that daily, I'd lose my mind.) Despite being more or less stuck, the averages have gone down or at least not gone up, for the last 5 or so weeks since I plateaued. I thought it odd to plateau with so little weight lost, but it is what it is. I'm logging my food honestly and accurately, and trying to be more active. That's how it works, right? 71 days (10 weeks) 8.1 lbs down. My aim is to lose a pound a week so I'm not too far behind schedule.
Starting weight December 25, 2016: 233. (Adjusted for new scale.)
 Average from Feb. 27-March 5: 224.9
Ultimate goal:180. I haven't seen that number in 3 decades. Keep me accountable.
 Move more. Eat less.

That. I've lost more, and more quickly many years ago but it involved a ton of restrictions, being difficult with family meals and a whole lot of stress. Wish I had MFP and a Vivofit 20 years ago. I try to remind myself of this when I get discouraged. It's not a race, right? As long as we keep moving forward.
