Timer for interval and weight training?

Hi All
OK, at the moment I use my HRM to time myself when I am doing weights and interval but this is really tricky when you are using weights or squatting.
Basically I want something to program so I can set up set times to be beeped at so I know when to start my "set" and when to stop. I have a new workout regime which requires me to do certain exercises for a set period of time, have a 10 second rest then start again.
What does everyone else use for this? In the gym I cant see a clock everywhere I go and I dont want to have to keep looking at my wrist.

This is the one I use. It's for boxing but it works great. Easy to change time and set your own intervals.

I use Cardio Trainer Pro on my android phone. I can play my music, and then it beeps through to let me know it's time to switch it up. There are a TON of apps for iphone/ipod, android, windows, blackberry. Just search 'interval timer'.0

I have an andriod phone but I dont want to connect to the internet.... do I need to? Am I being a thicko? I have a Samsung Genio... what can I do with it??0

Have you ever heard of a HRM product called the Polar FT80? It has an amazing strength training program that let's you build your whole custom workout on a web site (polarpersonaltrainer.com) and then upload it to your watch. During your routine...this eliminates the clipboard syndrome and it will tell you the next exercise and weight and reps needed. During the lifting, you visually see your heart rate and watch the curve climb. As you finish a set, your heart rate will go down and at the right moment, the watch will prompt you to start again. When you finish the exercise, you simply press a button to start the next exercise. You don't even have to go in order.
The key is, by watching your Heart Rate, you can precisely train so as not to overtrain or waste your valuable time at the gym. At the end of the workout, you place the watch on it's USB cradle and it will upload the info to ppt. You can then review and see how each exercise effects your body and maximize your time and effort. I have been using it for almost 2 years and I live by this HR training.

I have the Polar FT4.... not sure I am ready to buy a new one when I have only had it for a few months!!0 -
You have to connect to the internet to download the app. You also have to put the music on your phone somehow. Personally, I use isyncr wifi, and I sync my music over my home wifi network. But during the workout, you do not have to be connected to the internet. It asks me if I would like the GPS on or off. I usually keep it off, but if you keep it on, it will track your progess on a map. It's a pretty cool little app.0

I think you must have heard me yesterday complaining about this VERY thing! I was shadow boxing with hand weights and wanted to do 3 one-minute session in between weights, but using the watch portion of my HRM set up is next to impossible when your arms are a flyin' and my gym has only one clock that was not visible in the area I was in! I swear you totally read the exact thing that went running through my head yesterday trying to do this ...0 -
I have the Polar FT4.... not sure I am ready to buy a new one when I have only had it for a few months!!
This is the one I have to and while I'm fairly happy with it, I definately think it needs 2 things: a pedometer and a stop watch!0 -
