How do you calculate calories consumed when juicing fruits & veggies? When you juice 1 lb of carrots, and get 3/4 c. of carrot juice, how do you calculate the calories since you are not consuming nothing but the juice of the carrots?
How about when blending, when you blend up all the pulp & fiber in it?

You WANT the pulp & fiber. Fiber has so many health benefits....it helps regulate blood sugar for one.

The whole juicing thing is just a fad.
For blending - weigh the fruit or veggie (after peeling)......log it by weight.0 -
The juice I do by volume. You can find things like raw carrot juice, fresh orange juice etc in the database. I measure the volume of each juiced fruit and veg and log it in millileters.
For smooties I weigh out each fruit or veg in grams and log in the USDA calories for fresh veg and add in the volume of liquid.0
