Back in the game, and huge excersize restrictions

I am a 39 year old woman. I have struggled my whole life with weight.
Recently, i have lost 36 lbs. I have not counted calories, eaten healthy or been able to excersize let alone walk for any longer than 1/4 mile slowly with a cane.
I have no friggin clue how i lost any weight.
I had a complete left hip replacement on Nov. 11 th, 2016.
I am struggling with depression that i can not even take my dog for a walk, or take care of things like housework any more.
Looking for friendship and support in this journey to not only lose 50 more lbs, but to improve my eating habits and my overall lifestyle.

I'm sorry you are feeling down. I'm in a similar situation with a progressive disease and can't function as I used to.
Four years ago I was running half marathons just for fun. About a year ago I had to stop running altogether. I've since gained weight because I couldn't do my most effective exercise of choice and didn't decrease my calorie intake.
The most helpful thing for me was to accept I was not that person anymore. I stopped focusing on the things I could no longer do and worked on and appreciated the things I could still do. It's too easy to get down focusing on what you are unable to do.
Good luck to you.

Hey! - congratulations on making the first step!
I'm a clinical psychology student - I can't make any official recommendations, but I can say that exercise is one of the most powerful tools to boost your mood. It's better than therapy - even better than drugs.
It doesn't have to be intense or high-impact ... Swimming/water jogging, cycling, or gentle walking. Anything helps! (Often the hardest part is getting started! A buddy can sometimes help!)
I wish you the best of luck!0
