So i started a savings account for a tummy tuck. I have already lost 30 pound's. I have about 42 pounds to go. My stomach was already very loose after 4 pregnancies and being over weight. It has always been my biggest insecurity. I have to wear high waist underwear to hide it. I feel this will be a gift to myself once i get all the weight off. Has anyone had this and what was your experience?

I have not had an actual tummy tuck but did have a panniculectomy this is where they make the incision from hip to hip and remove the excess skin. Mine was about a 4 hour surgery and they removed everything from my belly button down. It was the best gift to myself after losing almost 200lbs without weightloss surgery. Great job an hope that everything goes well!!!! Keep up the great work52

Have had several clients do it after we hit goal for them. The key is you have to hit goal before even considering it. Getting it done too soon before hitting goal may leave one with still some leftover loose skin if they lose more weight.

I have not. But my stepmom did and she looks fabulous! I actually think it helped her keep the weight off, as it has already been over 5 years. She still talk about how she feels tight down there and if she eats too much it gets uncomfortable. My sister in law recently had one after her pregnancy split her amdomen, and the incision is extremely small and I'm thinking in a year or so it will probably completely unnoticeable. Just remember if this is what's going to help you feel comfortable in your own skin. Do it! Enjoy yourself, especially after giving life and losing weight. Cheers8

A tummy tuck is extensive and a big recovery Google it. I want the half bc I think it's easier and effective depending on the amount of loose skin. As a mom of 7 I understand why you want it5

I personally had a full tummy tuck one month ago after 114lb weight loss. I love it! I've been back in the gym getting back to my normal routine for 2 weeks now. First two weeks are miserable but it's worth it! Please feel free to message me about any questions!! Or check out my fitness instagram for photos etc @fitchic9210

I like your idea of a savings account. Would be a good idea .0

I actually started one, the other day. I have direct deposit to it every two weeks... so hopefully, it won't take TOO long to get the funds together....2

Loose skin is a concern of mine, if it happens I'll take care of it, but I won't not lose weight from fear of it4

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have some loose skin when I'm done, but my goal is still pretty far off. I'm thinking fairly seriously about a tummy tuck.1

My belly looks awful after a 98 pound loss. As I live in the cold dark north east of the UK I never wanted to take my top off much anyway. No chance of sunburn with a tee shirt on, so always a bright side. Tummy tuck? no thanks, I would rather spend my money on a new road cycle.9

I'm considering it also. Savings account for it is not a bad idea.1

I might have to go the route of a full body lift, have a surprisingly large amount of excess skin under my armpits, went down from a small D cup to a small B, have a very sad belly button area etc. Am down 83lbs and still have about 40 to go. But before I make a final decision I wanna have my weight maintained for a year and given my skin time to heal itself. Stretchmarks were a big issue for me, but I already somewhat came to terms with those, maybe it will be the same with the rest of my skin.14

I'm curious about the cost. I know it's different depending on where you live, but does anyone know or have a sense of the expense?2

My husband was quoted about $10k two years ago. I live in central US.1 -
lost 100 pounds. kept it off for a year before considering one. And when it became clear no amount of planks were gonna fix my belly, I went for it. So Efing painful!! seriously. Im not much of a wimp and rebound pretty quickly but this kicked my butt. Wish I would have gotten the boobies done at the same time cause im never doing elective surgery again. Honestly dont remember how long i walked hunched over, but nearly 2 years later I get something like a charlie horse in my gut at times, especially after lifting. Worth it? yes im happy, but the road through is rough, no lie.15

I'm planning to get one after I lose all the weight. Maybe a lower body lift if I need it. Maybe a breast lift if I need it.... I feel too young to look super saggy.4

I have allot of loose hanging skin on my lower stomach. Definitely planning a full tummy tuck. Idk if anyone is in Fl. Orlando area but I've been researching surgeons there & found a list of Orlando surgeons that are very highly rated & legit 100% & charging $2,000- $4,000 for full tummy tuck not the mini. I was shocked bcuz b4 that everything I found was $8,000- $12,000. It would be worth it even if u don't live in Fl. To Fly out 4 the surgery & stay in a hotel until u can fly back home to save that much money. Hopefully this helps. Good luck to everyone. & it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one with extra ugly skin that just hangs. Mine is so awful & ugly it's taken a huge toll on my confidence & I don't like to look at my body bcuz it's so ugly. Gets me very depressed, especially bcuz my face is very beautiful & my body gets looking great. But soon as the shirt comes off it's kinda scary looking . I haven't gone to a pool or beach on over 4 years bcuz of it. Ughh5

For real! I would gladly make a little vacation trip to FL for that kind of savings!2
