Vi-Shakes...anybody drink them? HELP!?!

Options
I just started taking Vi-Shakes by Visalus. Its like a meal replacement program and these shakes are supposed to have the equivalent of all these different foods. You would have to go to the website to see exactly the nutrional value. I wanted to know if any of you have tried them? And what type of success have you had? I drink one for breakfast and one for lunch and I am very very hungry in between...need advice on how to keep myself from being ravenous. I have ramped up my workouts as well. But Im not losing bc I think I may snack too much!

I write on these topic board and no one ever responds to me :(. I dont know why. Please let me know if you guys have tried this...

If you wanna see the nutrional chart
I have it on my blog...

I have.. just be careful because since they are only 90 calories of course you are going to lose weight. Make sure you continue eating at least 1200 cals a day...

I unfortunately didnt lose weight but the shakes are good.

If you are hungry in between, I would take that as a cue that these are not working for you. No offense but with Shakeology I am never hungry and I only have to drink 1 a day.

I haven't tried them, but I didn't want you to feel like people don't care... Maybe no one else as tried them???

Anyways, I read a study somewhere that said that in order for your mind to register that you are full, it needs you to chew your food... When you drink stuff, it tends to go through your body faster because it is already in liquid form. When you eat solids, they stick in your stomach for longer making you feel full for longer.

So if you are so ravenous like you say you are, I would suggest giving up the shakes and sticking to a food that is solids.. Veggies take a LONG time for your body to break down. Same with Lean protein, and Whole grain products....

I think you will find that you are fuller doing whole foods, because you are having to chew them. Maybe keep the shakes as something you can grab when you have absolutely NO time to prepare a lunch or breakfast?

I know of a few people who tried the shakes and were not impressed with the results.

I have been using them almost 90 days. Are you mixing them w/ water, milk or juice? I know in the beginning I was hungry. Now I make sure I have good quality snacks on hand. I also know when I use just water I do get hungry sooner.

I have tried them and really like them, but i only use them as snacks or for a breakfast if i'm in a hurry. I defintiely agree that i'm starving 30 minutes after having the shake.

If you are sure you want to stick with 2 a day, eat tons of veggies and drink loads of water to keep your stomach full. BUT, if you are feeling that hungry, maybe start with 1 shake for lunch so you get a good nutritious breakfast first thing in the morning, healthy snack, then the shake. Might make the transition to 2 shakes a day a little easier? I'm ceratainly not an expert tho, just my opinion

    Good luck!

I'm drinking the shakes as well. I have only been drinking the shakes for a week and have only seen about 2lb in weight loss. I am having the same problem about hunger. On my third day I was extremely hungry. My suggestion is to drink lots of water, you can snack but watch what it is you are snacking on. I've been using granola bars to help curb the hunger.

Sometimes if you are not losing weight, you may not be taking in enough calories, especially if the shakes are only 90 calories each. You probably need to add veggies and fruit in between to increase your calories to a level where your body will respond.

I drink one shake almost everyday as a snack mixed with fruit or different things just to up my protein intake but I don't follow the meal plan where you drink them for 2 meals a day. I just eat regular healthy meals and have a shake as a snack, putting 3 scoops in it sometimes too! Delish! One of the best protein shake mixes I have ever had.

I make them with almond milk and fruit in the morning....the one I have for lunch I only use almond milk bc I dont have a blender. I have also started running so I know that has contributed to my hunger pangs as well. I just started a few days ago...so I am gonna keep giving them a shot. A friend of mine lost 50lbs using it. So we'll see

My sister in law is trying to push the Body by Vi challenge on me... I mean I like the shakes, but... Like so many before me said, I"m just hungry and I end up snacking.

If these didn't have so much soy protein in them, then I'd probably be drinking more of them...

A good friend of mine is using them, and she mixes them with milk. She really enjoys them, and finds with milk, it keeps her fuller, longer.

If you're feeling hungry, then adjust your diet accordingly without going over :) Maybe try just drinking one for breakfast and eating a sensible lunch? If you force yourself to drink one in the morning and at lunch, doesn't seem very fulfilling.

I have been doing them for about a month now. At first I wasn't hungry doing the shakes twice a day but recently I get hungry faster. Something you can do is add more liquid when you make the shake, add another scoop of shake mix, etc... feel free to look at my diary and you can see how I have been doing my meals and calories with the shakes. You still have to get your 1200 calories a day.

I have had these...they are yummy. However, I do have a friend that is very into fitness and she used them as her snacks...not as a meal replacement. If you are using these for your meals, it is possible that you are not eating enough. This lowers your metabolism and actually makes it harder to lose weight....I know you are snackin a lot....just try to make healthy decisions....I struggle with this constantly.....I feel like I'm good for a few days then kind of benge snack...lol....it drives me crazy.....

I honestly think this is a fad diet that will give you quick results, but after that, then what? Drink shakes for the rest of your life? I think it's better to incorporate healthy eating habits for the whole day, eat enough good calories, and EXERCISE. I know one of their biggest perks is with vi shakes is that you don't have to exercise while on this program, but it is much healthier for you if you do... I think you need to think long term. :) Use them for a healthy low cal snack. I have seen too many people try a diet where they're hungry all the time, and ultimately fail because really...who wants to be hungry all the time?

ALSO! i did want to add that I have lost 70lbs by working out and eating better!!! The VISAKES did NOT do anything for me.. If u are looking for some kind of meal replacement it has to at least be 200-300 cals... Just my 2 cents
