As the title says I need help before I passed my driving test 4 weeks ago I would easily smash 10000 steps walking to and from work. I have a desk job easily sit at my desk for 3-4 hours at a time I'm an account manager don't often have a lunch break. I also have my own business I work on in the evenings. I gave up smoking in October and started to pick. But since driving I feel tired weak and lazy I'm losing concerntrarion fast. I gave up break for 2 years now I'm eating it daily. Hit me with honest answers am being lazy. I get up at 5 as it is. But now my loose jeans are getting tight and I have a holiday booked for 54 days

Maybe try some other exercise. A class? Something you'd enjoy?

Congrats on passing your test :-) If you enjoy walking to work, and otherwise have difficulty getting other exercise in, keep walking! But if you are weighing & logging everything you eat (assuming you are eating at a deficit), you should not be gaining. Maybe you can take a few breaks during your evening work (say 5-15 min each) to do a quick workout (run in place, pushups, squats, etc). Are you getting enough sleep? Drinking lots of water? Eating nutritious food- maybe re-examining your food choices will help you feel more energetic & focused (I'm not judging, just saying sometimes it helps to mix things up a bit :-)!)

Personally, I think you SHOULD ABSOLUTELY take a lunch break every day (you could use the time to get away from your desk for a quick walk, and still have some time to eat).

I found that when i was feeling as you described it was due to my bad diet. Since i've improved my diet by adding more leans meats and vegetables, i don't get that kind of feelings any more. On the issue of the fit of the pants, I've had mobility issues and exercise is usually minimal. I would attribute any weight gain on a surplus of calories. I've managed a 127 pound weight loss by focus on diet and little exercise.

Congrats on passing your test - but even though you have your license, can you not still walk to work? :)

Since January I have been making a point to pack my lunch, and I will eat it at my desk while working, and then go for a 1/2 hour walk. It's nice because it burns 100 calories, puts me in a better mood and now I look forward to those walks everyday. Do you work in an area where you can get outside and go for a walk on your break every day? That would be great if you could get some exercise in the middle of your day too!

Being an account manager isn't a good reason not to take a lunch break. I used to be a company director (of a small company, in which such people do real work and are under pressure - no leisurely port lunches!). I always took a lunch break, and usually left the office to do it. I still do it in my current job.

I know I don't perform at my best unless I take time out and get some fresh air and exercise. This "desk dining" business is macho nonsense, imo, and is damaging to productivity as well as employees' health. People will not die if you leave the office for a short while. But you will perform better when you come back.

I agree with others, why stop walking? Just because you can drive doesn't mean you have to. If you need the car at your work during the day, drive there early and go for a walk before you start work.

A calorie deficit, the same as everyone else in the world.

Leave the keys at home and walk to work. Or bicycle. I get up at 5:45 am and walk as the sun is just starting to light the sky. I walk on break. I walk all my lunch hour. I eat at my desk. The gym is my friend 3 days a week after work. I hike a trail on weekends. No snacking and carefully planned meals. It can be done. Motivation! Summer is coming!
