Slow losers, come join me!

Due to metabolism, age, high goal, etc. I don't anticipate reaching the end of my journey too quickly. If you have more to lose or plan to make more gradual change, add me! I'm happy for those who aspire to lose 10 pounds a month, but that's not my reality, and I'd like to find similar people.

I am definitely the tortoise in the race! God, I would be happy to lose 4lbs a month - even 2 for that matter!!! A loss is a loss!7

So much yes to slow and steady. I don't have much to lose, and I'm letting my body guide this more than picking a number and trying to reach it. I'm lifting weights regularly for the first time in my life (Body Pump) so I have no idea how much healthy-me-with-baby-muscles should weigh. Focusing on eating well (or at least "ok") and tracking food/exercise in MFP.0

Me, me, me. I am trying to make slow changes that I can actually stick to. I will be happy for a few pounds each month.2

I'd like to join0

OMG yes! My metabolism have always been s...l...o...w... and menopause has slowed it down even more. I could use some support on my weight loss journey as well.3
-
I'm not a slow loser, but I am losing and the more support people can get, the better. Feel free to add me if you would like.1

Yes, slow is the my path as well. 1 pound a week seems ok to me.3

I am right there. Looking to lose (maybe) half a pound a week. Definitely tracking my numbers but really starting to exercise more for health than weight loss. Will take all the support I can get.0

Do most of you weigh yourselves weekly? Or more/less often? I've heard of people weighing daily but that sounds a little obsessive for me. I'm afraid I would let a "bad" weigh in ruin my mood.1

thank god there are other people like me!!! I'm 5ft 4 and 38 years old and find losing weight so hard and it takes forever. I want to lose a stone (14lbs) and am trying so hard. MFP gives me 1200 calories before exercise- have it set to 2lbs a week but that's not happening. I lost 3 my first week and have stayed the same last week. This week is my 3rd week and a sneaky weigh in shows no change. I drink lots of water and cycle when I can, do my own weights at home and usually do 1200 steps a day. I'm so glad to have read this thread. I was feeling really down about it x2

when i was on Dukan diet a couple of years ago (3 months - lost 19pounds) I would daily weigh myself in the 1st month.. then i'd do it every 4 days or 51 -
Hey guys! Yeah I've been losing slowly but not by choice. I'm that person that wants the 10 lb a month but only manages 2-4. Like some of you said, a loss is a loss but I find myself losing determination. Is that a problem for anyone else?5
-
My scale seems to lie to me and show no lose for weeks at a time, and then before i know it im down 5lbs. so feel free to add me2

I'm a slow loser because I have a hard time staying consistent. I'm losing, but very slowly.
Feel free to add me. I'm 24 years old, 5'4" and 214 pounds.3 -
This is my first post. I'm 65, post menopausal and 40 lbs overweight. My loss on keto diet is glacially slow, but I'm determined to keep going. Any suggestions?0

Hi Carolo, I was like that on keto too. Did it for a year and lost around 6 kilos (13 pounds). This year I've been doing Dukan, which is very similar to keto (I still am in ketosis, just eating less fat than before) and have lost 5 kilos already. I'm 60 and obviously post menopausal as well. I'm going to be sticking to Dukan.0 -
Me I yoyoed on vlcd meal replacement 2-5 lbs a week losses but it's messed my body up so now it's 0.5-1.5 lbs losses a week
I've 40lbs restart weight to lose but after vlcd losses mentally it's much harder seeing such small ones but better off than in and I can't actually eat0 -
I aiming for a pound a week!!! Trying to do it slow. Every time I try for fast results I fail!2

I'm trying to lose 10kg .0

So I'm new to the message boards and to the commitment to lose weight (always been semi-serious for a few days at best). Support and a sounding board would be amazing but I'm not sure how it works on the message boards. Looks like you add each other as friends? Then what?
By the way, I'm looking to lose about 25 lbs, I'm 30 y.o. female and have started working out with a trainer 3 times a week and cleaning up my diet, reducing alcohol intake etc. It's been about a month and I've gained 2 lbs...very frustrating!!!0 -
I'm soooo slow because I do great during the week and then tend to go crazy on the weekends. I've upped my exercise to try and balance that out and next goal is to track everything (yes even on the weekends). My scale has not moved for literally 3 weeks....correction it has not moved in the right direction for weeks3

Count me in! I hit an all time high of ridiculous 239 lbs last summer & have slowly been (half heartedly) trying to lose weight. Started in earnest this week at 238lbs, and so far have religiously stuck to meal planning, recording on MFP to ensure i stick to calories - never really counted them before, and have gone swimming 3 times this week (not easy with a rotator cuff injury).
I have a goal date of 6th August, as we're then off on a roadtrip across the US, starting in Texas, then across to New Orleans & then Pensacola & Atlanta in Georgia. I'll be meeting some of my Husbands family that i haven't met in person before. I dont want to be a fat sweaty mess in the Texan heat!
Not sure how much weight it's possible to sensibly lose, but if I can drop potentially 3 dress sizes, i'll be a lot happier than i am now0 -
I'm looking for a slow weight loss myself -- Nothing too rapid. I don't actually have all that much to lose myself, but I don't want to get too carried away either. I've also noticed that the slower the loss, the more manageable the dieting is for me.0
-
i'm almost a year in and my trend is overall 0.36 pounds per week. it sucks to be a slow loser sometimes but it does mean that in a year i've gone down 20 pounds and that's better than none.0
-
I lost very slowly at first, but not intentionally. I just could never lose as fast as I should have based on calorie calculations. For the first 2+ years, I lost about 0.24 lbs. per week on average. I see other users saying 0.5 or 1 lb. per week is slow and I'm jealous.0

Add me to the pound a week club. I started in January with an 80-pound loss goal, which would put me June '18.
I'd rather lose slowly with a change in eating habits that'll stick with me for life than lose it quickly by dieating, reach goal early, stop the diet and gain it all back.1 -
Very slow loser but sticking with it 1275 days logged and 50lb loss!!! Thats slow1

I'm pretty close to that, though my days logged counter has reset a couple times when out in the wilderness for extended periods (and also back when there was a glitch where logging in from mobile didn't always count).0 -
Being in my 30's I'm lucky to lose 3lb a month and that's with a STRICT diet. I'm about to add you!

I'm lucky if I lose .5-1 lb a week. I've cut out fast food, weigh and measure everything I consume and started walking on the treadmill again.0
