What have you set your goal to? What have you set your activity level to?
You don't have to exercise to lose weight as long as you have a calorie deficit.0 -
I am by no means an expert. But I have to ask...why would you not exercise?
If you correctly entered your stats into MFP, you will probably lose weight. But the bigger issues will not be addressed. The longer you go as sedentary, the less muscle that you have. The less muscle, the harder it is to lose weight the older you get. Your joints get tighter and harder to move really making exercise harder...... the heart gets weaker.....etc..
Eating right is an important part...but no more so than some form of exercise. Can you not spare a few minutes to do....something? Trust me...if you think that you are having an issue keeping your weight in check in your 20's, 40 is going to be a whole new experience.1 -
2000 seems high. Are you sure you input your stats correctly? I have to wonder, because you gave you numbers here in mixed metric and American units, and maybe you got something crossed.
The TDEE calculator I usually refer to calculates 1759 as your maintenance calories. That means you'd lose 1 lb/week at 1259 calories or so. (MFP might come up with a slightly different number due to different guesstimates about your calorie burn and the formula used.) Since you're only a very little overweight if at all (when I try to figure your BMI you come out just barely "normal" or just barely "overweight" depending on how I round converted units) that might be too aggressive and you'd be better off with a target of a half lb/week. That would be 1509 calories.
Once you have the correct number then yes, that's what you can eat to lose weight without any additional exercise.0 -
Yes you'll lose weight if you eat at a deficit.
Including fat, muscle, organ tissue, ligaments, bone density....do you REALLY just want to lose weight?
You need to maintain muscle at least....put some resistance on those muscles so you maintain them at worst, build them at best.0
