Exercise is good for you and can help increase the amount of calories you burn. It's just one part of the equation. Regardless of body type.1 -

On the home page click on "goals", click on "View Guided Setup". Fill everything out completely. I suggest that you put your goal at losing .5 to 1lb a week. It will give you the calories you need to eat per day to reach that goal.
The weight will come off where it wants to. You cannot lose weight in specific body parts. That's just not how our bodies work, unfortunately. My guess is that you will probably always be a "pear" shape, just a smaller pear once you lose.
