Visible abs are a result of low body fat...about 16ish% for women. There also has to be muscle obviously...and genetics also play a factor. I know quite a few really fit and lean women and only one of them actually has a visible 6 pack...everyone else just has really nice, flat stomachs.

I do pretty minimal direct ab work and a lot of compound lifting movements.

I just saw your post on another thread concerning your ED and wanting to lose weight. Please speak with your counselors about this.

Stronglifts + adequate protein + calorie deficit = visible abs, biceps, quads etc.

Abs are made in the gym and revealed in the kitchen. Most any exercise that engages your abs will help on the "made in the gym" side... then it's just a matter of body fat, which is the "revealed in the kitchen" part.

Genetics is also a factor, but you can't do anything about that other than adjust your expectations accordingly.

Came in here to agree with Walter: fork put-downs are the number one way to get abs.
