Hi !! If after dinner you were under your calorie intake for the day and your macros target was off (too much fat/not enough carbs) would anyone eat carbs ( tho' not at all hungry ) to get closer to their target macros?

Not if I wasn't at all hungry.
But I pre log so that wouldn't happen1 -
If I was under my cals, I'd eat if I wanted to. I doubt I would eat specifically to hit a macro, unless I was WAY under.1

I make sure I hit my protein target every day, and I want carbs somewhere around 100g per day, but if I'm low or high, I don't worry too much as long as I feel good. I don't care at all about fat. If my calories are very low, I'll eat more to bring them up, but only because it's very important to me to fuel my workouts. If I don't eat enough, I don't perform well and I'm coming in to race season, so performance is critical.1

I don't worry about carbs at all. Protein and fat for the win.
I would eat if I was hungry and had calories left.1 -

Its a question based on goals.
If my goal was to gain. As long as I hit my protein and fat macros minimum, I wouldn't care where my calories came from. I would eat more so I hit my minimum of calories.
If my goal was to cut weight. I would again look at my protien and fat macros minimum, as long as those are hit then I would ask myself what my energy level it's like. If it was low and I planned on lifting the next day, I would probably go carb route. If my energy level was good, then I would eat my calories from any source so I hit my calories.
Goal of maintaining would be the same as bulking.1 -
I also look at protein and fat as minimums. I don't pay any attention to carbs.1

Thanks everyone! I've been steadily losing weight for a month keeping as close to the macro % ratio as possible. Must admit I've been averaging around 1000 cals/day and I'm never hungry.
Why is important to hit 1200 cals?kommodevaran wrote: »Hit your calories.
