Hey everyone!

I recently quit smoking - 3 weeks tomorrow to be exact - And I'm actually finding that my lungs are hurting more since I stopped.

My physical stamina is fine it's just the lung soreness that's annoying!

Let me know if this happened to you, and when I can expect it to stop!

Sorry I should point out that this is during exercise - Not just everyday life. This is when I do any cardio etc!

It doesn't seem strange, your lung tissue is regenerating and your lungs are working harder, because they can now.

I had a taste of blood/iron/dirt in my mouth for the first weeks after quitting smoking.

Your lungs are clearing themselves out from the smoking damage. It's fairly normal.

As everyone so far pointed out, it's normal. Hell, it took like three months for me to stop feeling like I was breathing from a sandblaster when lifting. However, I was also a 3-4 pack per day smoker for nearly 20 years.

Thanks so much guys! Really reassuring to know that I'm not alone with this.

I just can not wait for this to pass!
