Is 120 too skinny for me?

I am 5'5" and weigh 125lbs. My first goal, when I was 155, was to get down to 135lbs. I have a fairly large frame and I always look less than I weigh. Well, I got there, and then decided 125 would be perfect. Now that I am 125, I'm thinking I could go down to 120lbs. I have a lot of muscle, and am very thin on top. My only real problem area is my tummy, but that's just extra skin from having two babies and losing weight. I wonder if losing more weight will make my skin problem better or worse. Maybe I should just focus on a new goal, like lowering body fat, but then wouldn't I have to lose weight to do that? I'm so confused.

  • no you dont need to lose anymore all you have to do to lose it is tone up by doing sit ups and aerobic work outs, but you dont have to lose weight
    hope that was helpful!

I would get your body fat tested. It can make quite a bit of difference in how you look!

I am 5ft 5 ad want to be about 120lb, i set off wanting to be 135, but as it approaches i know my belly wont have caught up by then. I have two children, 1 c-section, its not good. I would say its ok. I am slightly worried, some bits of me are thin, then I have a big belly, can't win.

Although I'm not there yet. I may feel the same way when I get there. My goal is 124 and right now I'm at 130. My primary focus is not to look so thin that I lose my curves. I do want to be fit and have some muscle tone. I had 2 kids and would love to diminish the extra skin or tighten it as much as possible w/ exercise and what I eat. I read you can't have abs until you decrease your body fat %.

I'm 5'6", right now I weigh 135, and am medium build. Last year I was at my lowest weight which was 125. I was very fit though, tone. alot of people told me I was TOO skinney. It actually got to the point where it hurt my feelings & I was starting to get bothered sometimes when people commented on my 'skinneyness'. It's not like I was starving myself, I was in GREAT physical shape, athlete level. How dare they make me feel like I was one of those anorexic girls obsessed about my weight! I personally liked that weight & I liked feeling super strong & fit, but I do think that I would be very happy at 130. Either way, as long as you are healthy & feel good, it doesn't matter what you weigh, and it doesn't matter what other people say or think. I think you are at a healthy weight and should stop using the scale & focus on how you feel physically. If you feel healthy & fit, you feel good about how you look, that should be your goal. Doesn't matter what the scale says.

I'm almost 5'5" and weigh 120. I'm happy at this weight, but also need to work on losing the post-baby flab.

Why is the gut always the last thing to go?!? :grumble:

Also could be that they were jealous. I cannot tell you the amount of crap people that were supposedly my "friends" back when I first started this company (which was a huge career boost) told me about my weight back when I was 5'5" 120-125, they found fault with my fashion style, and the way I wore my hair. Some of them were roommates. You know what? I kicked them out or have real-life "unfriended" them over the years, but not before I suffered a significant amount of pain. Now my goal is to make them that jealous again, only this time I will KNOW the difference and appreciate my image more.
