Anyone else find it hard to lose weight while having thyroid problems? I became vegetarian 17 days ago and that has helped a bit but wondering if anything else helped anyone else. Thanks in advance!

I got rid of using it for an excuse. Watched my added salt. Kept up on blood work. Didn't do refined carbs. Found out they prevent your body from absorbing all the meds which leads to the need of needing higher doses. Did away with soy as soy slows down the metabolism.

Really it doesn't matter what you do. Do what you like or choose to do. Not everyone is affected by the same things. I eat my fruits and veggies and meat and dairy. If I was at a family gathering I ate breads or pasta. But we only get together 2 times a year so no biggy.

I found exercise helped me alot. Breaking it up so I did some in the morning and an afternoon/evening walk helped keep the metabolism fresh. May not be that way for everyone though. Only you and your dr know what is best.

    Best wishes on your journey

I have Hashimoto's disease. It does effect you greatly. Your thyroid is very important.
I used to feel very sad and didn't have the energy to go trough one simple day. Let alone to exercise. It all disappeared when I got the right meds. I've lost around 26lbs now!

Please, see your doctor about this. :)

I had a pituitary tumor years ago that was removed. It also stopped all my glands from working and I have to be on meds (including thyroid and other steroids) to live. I have a very hard time keeping weight off. And I feel the older I get the worse it gets. Trying to stay positive and I know exercise helps but even that is hard to do some days. Keeping my chin up thou ☺️
