Not really mottos, but sayings I like ...

"What we hope ever to do with ease, we must learn first to do with diligence."
    Samuel Johnson

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
    H. Jackson Brown, Jr.'s mother

Do, or do not. There is no try.

This is a good one but I like the added meaning that comes from the larger scene:

Luke: All right, I'll give it a try.
Yoda: No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

[Using the Force, Yoda effortlessly frees the X-Wing from the bog]

    Luke: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you fail.

    Here's the whole scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YkbgvRMpW0

Another one that I like is "You can have results, or excuses...but not both."

One I've been using since I started MFP in February 2016 is "60 is the new 40!" Obviously after my next birthday I will have to change this!

The one I created and use often, and will keep as my own, is "Eat well, breathe deep, get strong, feel good."

Eat; mostly plants and not too much. Stolen from a book's similar title, but it reasonates with me.

Hey! The part that you took away will serve well, I suppose. The whole quote is "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

Did you read 'In Defense Of Food'? There is SO much more to it. The book changed my life. (Ask me how...)

Since Yoda has already been mentioned  , I'll add Confucius to the mix:

"The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."

I love your guys stuff so far. ;D I go with "Suck it up, Princess" to remind me that a.) the world doesn't revolve around me and b.) "no one" cares about my whining so get over it and do it. It sounds harsh but it does stop my inner whining.

"Time passes anyway." I.e. don't not do something because it takes a long time to do.

"You're not a dog, don't reward yourself with food." I always felt that one was anti-dog...
