On the 13th Day....

I am on my 13th day of logging my food in this app, and generally eating healthy. I have not "cheated" this whole time. I have not had much carbs either. Sticking to Chicken/pork/fish and mostly brown rice or sweet potato as my sides. Of course adding in vegetable to each meal. I usually have a fruit smoothie every morning with protein powder.
Today, for some strange reason, I started craving sugar. I have not had soda, juice, anything besides black coffee and water for that matter, these 13 days. Also, yesterday I saw a loaf of french bread and was tempted to bite into the bread haha.
I am sure many others have experienced this.... my question is, how long did it last for you? I need feedback in order to feel that I am not going insane. Thank you in advance!!!!

Don't worry you are not going insane. any time you tell yourself "no" your body will systematically plan a revolution against you haha. Discipline is hard to begin so congrats on being almost 2 weeks in!! Keep up the hard work! However I am wondering what your diet was like before MFP. If you drastically change your diet and eliminate entire groups of food cold turkey it will be harder than if you wean yourself off. Cravings are natural and come with the territory of diets. I'm not sure they ever go away completely but you do get better at telling yourself no.
The biggest secret to success though is to treat every day as new. If you totally fail one day and give in to everything don't spend the next day beating yourself up and making yourself pay. Start fresh every day forget about yesterday and enjoy each meal. If you don't enjoy what you eat you won't stick to it. Every day is a fresh start. Sorry this reply is so long, I hope it helps motivate you to continue3 -
I have what I like as long as I don't go over calories I still lose weight if I couldn't have treats id fail this is for life a life of no treats is long but in the sense of long and suffering3

Are you planning on eating meat and rice for the rest of your life? If you want to lose weight eat a balanced diet (which can include so called "bad" foods) in a calorie deficit, there isn't any need to restrict carbs and sugar, unless it's for medical reasons. Restricting food types will likely make you more suceptible to falling off the wagon and re-gaining what you lose. It took me a lot of years to realise this.
I am 70+ days into logging, I mostly have home-cooked food, made from scratch but I don't feel bad about ordering pizza on a Friday night once in a while and I eat chocolate most days. I just eat less of it than I used to.

They say it takes a long time to break a habit. I say, cravings never really go away. Best of luck to you.1

OP I feel your pain. I am pretty much in the same situation. Mine is medical associated but still it does not make it easy. I am about 10ish days in and have certain things calling my name. I simply take it one meal or snack at a time. I try not to look at the big picture because it can be very depressing. This, for me, is a life change that needs to happen so I know I have to do this. I wish you luck. As I have said many times before, how do you eat an elephant? Same as anything else, one bite at a time. It just takes longer.1

I guess by saying I haven't "cheated" I meant binges or gone to any extreme. I have had ice cream, pizza and a few other things that I have wanted and kept within my calorie range. I am not restricting myself to an extreme, but definitely trying to cut WAY back. I go back and forth with letting myself have certain foods. I tend to be the kind of person to say "oh, I can have that piece of cake today it is just once this week after all" and then just go crazy eating everything. It is not one of my better traits of being an all or nothing type of person. Which I know never has the best results. I know it is a mindset that needs to be changed for sure. I am working on it though. I may need to loosen some strings......1
