Spinning?

I'm considering picking up spinning but I was wondering what your opinions are? Any personal experiences?

Do it! It is fun, low impact, and the music is great BUT if you do take a class and you find that you didn't like it try it with another instructor. There are so many different methods for instructing out there and I have noticed that there are certain instructors I like and certain ones I don't like0

I took my first spin class almost 8 years ago. I had been pretty sedentary and pretty much constantly pregnant or nursing for the previous 9 years.
Within 6 mos. I had lost 53 pregnancy pounds and was addicted. The next month I became an instructor.
Yeah, I would recommend it :laugh:0 -
Amazing!!!! I love it. I just started a few months ago, and i was hooked after the first class. What's great is you can go at your own pace, kinda. I guess what I should say is you can go at your own resistance. If your having a tough day you can keep your rersistance down and only you really know how hard you worked. A warning. YOU WILL BE SORE for the first week. But it is worth it. After about a week you will already feel a diference. It is a great cardio workout and a great leg workout.
Wait and see if you like it, then I would recommend cycling shoes and cycling shorts (they have a chamois in the seat to add some padding and chaffing protection).0 -
I started it a month ago and absolutely love it! Its hard work, but you feel brilliant afterwards and it really melts the calories! (up to 500 in one session!). I just hit my goal weight and I would 100 % give the credit to spinning classes for helping me over the hurdles (let alone plateau's) of the last month or so.
Go for it! You wont regret it0 -
I used to run alot but not anymore. Spinning is definitely more fun and very easy on the knees. If i do 30 minute sessions I usually burn 450 calories, hour sessions I burn 1080 calories. Use a heart rate monitor if you can so you can hit your target zones.0
