6lb sound great, generally it won't be all water, possibly a mixture of water, fat and lean body mass. Going forward if you are eating sufficient (to lose weight) there will be some lean body mass loss but should hopefully have a higher percentage of fat loss.

As to whether its enough really depends on your current weight, height and goal weight. But at the end of the day, any loss is great! Don't get caught up in if its enough or not...as long as the long term trend is down its all good.

On the reverse side, depending on your start weight 6lb may well be too much and you could be losing more lean body mass than fat.
  • I need to know if the 2nd month goes like the 1st for most ppl or not...shuld i exect the same rate of loss in the 2nd month as well

Most people find that the first whoosh of weight is the fastest you see. If you keep eating at your deficit, then you'll continue to lose. Some of it will be water, and some of it will be fat.

Also, weight loss is not linear. There's a good chance that even if you're doing everything right, there will be weeks when you don't lose anything, but other weeks where you lose more. Don't expect every month to be the same as the last. Also, the closer you get to goal, the slower you lose, as you'll need to eat at a smaller deficit.

P.S - as long as the scale/body measurements/goals are heading in the direction you want them too, then it's enough.

If you saw continued loss after the first two weeks you are probably looking at fat loss, not just water. If you stay consistent you can probably expect your weight loss to continue as it did over the past two weeks. As already mentioned, weight loss is not always linear and there will be some variations in there.

Try thinking about this differently. Do you feel comfortable with your plan over the last month and can you continue doing it long term? If the answer is yes, then you are doing just fine so keep up the good work.

Weight loss is a personal journey. There is no fast enough or other standard you have to meet. Go at the pace that is sustainable for you, and in the end you will be just fine.

Also, a lot of your rate of loss depends on how much you have to lose. If you are obese, for example, it is relatively easy to get down 2 lbs per week if you maintain the appropriate caloric deficit. However, as you get closer to your goal weight, your expectations for weekly loss will need to be lowered. And you won't lose the same amount of weight each week, either - weight loss isn't linear and is affected by many different factors aside from just maintaining your calorie deficit.

Well done on a great first month, 6lbs was a good rate  . It is likely to slow down a bit (eventually) but that really depends on how much you have still to lose. If its a lot then you should keep continuing losing at that rate.

    All the best.

pounds in your first month sounds good to me. That's about 1 1/2 pounds a week which sounds like a healthy loss. Don't focus on dieting norms - just focus on what your body does. You're doing great, keep it up!
