I take every other day from both. I only workout every other day and do nothing but eat in a deficit on the other days. Steady losing 1-1.5 a week.

I don't do weight training. I run 5 days a week, do one day of cross training (hiking or bike) and take one day as a rest day. I also walk 2-3 miles every day, walking the dog at an easy pace. I consider that active rest.

I have Sundays off mostly because I see no reason to further split my training routine to fill that last day. I slot in a deload week every 4-6 weeks for fatigue management.

I did a 10 mile hike today. You bet I'm taking a day off tomorrow.

I take 2 days off. One is solely for regenerative purposes ie sleeping in, sleeping throughout the day inc. full body massage or beauty course treatments. The other is when I attend to my homebound to do list for the week, running errands (inc. the farmers' market) organising my approaching work week's wardrobe (x2) and possibly an outing - time permitting, which is rare.

I lift usually lift six days a week and do some type of cardio/high intensity training four days a week. Three days are lift-only, one day is cardio-only and three are combined. I'll occasionally take a day off for a full day of travel and/or if I'm traveling with a large group.

I usually have two rest days a week but this still includes 3+ miles of reasonably slow walking (not breaking a sweat). Sometimes I will have more though if I am feeling unwell or injured or too busy at work, I try to listen to my body as much as I can (my physical body and not my lazy mind which would quite happily sit on the couch all day every day!).

For me: 3 days of workout (alternating cardio and strength) followed by one day off. This keeps me active 5 days per week and I still feel like my body has an opportunity to recover.

Sundays is ALWAYS my total day off from ANY training. Aside from that I tend to have three days on, one day off, some weeks that means 5 days training and 2 days off with the midweek day off just a bit of cardio/core and some weeks (like last week) are only 4 days on with 3days off, with the non Sunday days off being light cardio/core. Hope that makes sense

    A massive generalisation.

    I for one don't.....

I have days where I don't lift weights but I do some form of activity or cardio everday.

Very rarely take a rest day - mostly when I can't make the time to exercise rather than through choice.

I mostly alternate my cardio and strength training and my training is at varied intensity levels all the way from active recovery to maximal effort.

I take at least a full day a week (not including the 10k steps I walk in a normal work day) and then at least 1 of just light workout (maybe swim with no hard intervals) or yoga - I've found that I recover better doing this and having better training overall

I'm a long distance runner. I run 5 days a week, do 1 cross training day, do strength training 2x a week, and have 1 rest day. On my rest day, I at most do yoga or walk my dog, but usually, I do nothing that day.
