Why aren't the calories burned during strength training calculated? Is there a way to do this?

but remember, it may seem low, but even hours after you're done lifting weights, you're still burning0

You could invest about $100 in a polar heart rate monitor. It is totally worth the money, and way more accurate than MFP "guesstimates" for cardio exercises.0

Yes, I log my strength training exercises but the calories burned are not calculated like the cardio calories.0

Strength Training is very hard to guess. There are a lot of factors in play:
Intensity (Reps/sets/weight)
Conditioning
Muscle mass ( the more mass you have the more you'lll burn, particularly in lifting)
Lifts done (Compound lifts like sqauts , bench press and dead lifts burn a lot more calories than isolation lifts like bicep curls)
Timing (How much time between reps and sets can change how many calories you burn)
As mentioned above, lifting increases you caloric burn for hours after you lift, as much as 48 hours.
So, 200 calories for an hour of lifting is for most males going to be very low if you are lifting heavy in higher volume.0 -
