Scale not moving, normal?

I've been eating the same, doing the same amount of activity, drinking the same amount of water and the scale has been in yo-yo for a week. One day I'll weigh 196.2 next time it will be 196.6 and so on. I was losing a pound about every 6 days and then bam, it just stopped. I would say it was water retention from this last Saturday but it doesn't make sense because the next day I weighed and I didn't weigh any different on that day then I weighed the day before. My clothes seem to be a tad looser then they did a few days ago but it's confusing me. I try not to weigh so much but when I was going down a pound in a week since January to all of a sudden fluctuating, it's new to me.

I've been around 250 for a week now. Trying to break through it. Just normal life. it's worse for women than me. So lots of things will affect the scale number.
Someone will provide the link to the weight loss isn't linear thread, but it's perfectly normal. I'm expecting a whoosh in the next day or 2. Probably drop 2 lbs overnight.
It sucks but it is just life.1 -

First thing: A lb a day is insane. If your just starting out, less insane. At some point it will stop, it's normal.
Next: Are you logging food and activity? If yes: Do you weigh and measure your food?
Do you use a HRM? Tends to be more accurate than going by app estimates. For example I use a treadmill for my cardio, at first I was burning 500+ calories in a hour, as I became lighter and more fit that number dropped (massively). If I went by app estimates it would probably tell me 500 calories still.1 -

But 1 lb every 6 days is reasonable. That is what was posted.

I was losing a pound a week when I started at 240 pounds. I still have my calorie deficit set to lose a pound a week since I'm at 196 ish still. I don't always lose a pound a week especially lately. It's more like half a pound to 3/4 th of a pound depending how busy I am and what excersice i work in. Even at the 1 pound loss setting I'm alloted 1700 calories a day so it's okay. Just recently is when my loss has slowed. Not really slowed it's fluctuating between 196 and 197.0 -

And yes I weigh and measure everything. I'm been logging excersice the same as I have always done. If I'm not 100 percent comfortable with the calories lost that mfp gives me I input half of it to be safe.0 -
I've been consistent in losing a pound a week until this sudden fluctuation.0

Doesn't matter. Consistency for 9 weeks doesn't guarantee it in Week 10.2 -

I understand that, I was just saying that I have been doing the same as I was when I was losing 1 pound a week. I understand that it will slow but I didn't know that it would bounce back and forth between pounds. Now I know.1 -
If it's any consolation I lost 18lbs pretty consistently about 2lbs a week and then stalled for 2 weeks - it totally happens! Just be patient and keep on keepin' on, basically.2

OP, have you recalibrated your MFP calories at all while losing weight?1

Its normal...I focus on the body fat percentage. Sometimes the scale may not move but you can tell on your clothes if they are getting looser1

And knowing is half the battle

Well I woke up this morning and weighed in. Finally over that hump, getting ready for the next one that is probably going to come. I finally broke through 196-197 stop. I weighed in at 195.4 this morning. I knew I was still losing something because my clothes were still a little loose.1
