As the title says, I am doing a challenge with another person, we are recording what we have lost (or gained) once per week and seeing who has lost the highest percentage, then the winner gets a small prize, but I suck at math.

How would I work out the following:
Starting weight 141.2 lbs
weight after one week - 139.2 lbs - so a 2lb weight loss.
How do I work out what 2lbs is as a percentage of 141.2?

I know 1 percent would be 1.41lbs, but how do I find the accurate amount that 2lbs would be?
I know there must be a formula, but it is many many years since I was at school so pls be kind in your answer, thank you

    2/141.2 x 100 = 1.41%

    100*(2/141.2) = 1.42%

fitwatch.com has a weight loss % calculator so you don't have to do the maths. i am also not a fan of the maths.

You have two examples that are correct. It's good to understand basic math.

If you want to figure out how much 2% would be continue plugging in numbers until that number comes up with. Good luck!

    That is just a rounding error 2/141.2*100= 1.416 rounded up 1.42% :D

    (141.2-139.2) / 141.2 X 100
