Just Started & I'm Saying Hello

I've just started with MFP (yesterday) and thought it might be a good idea to say hello. I have been changing the way I eat & exercise slowly since the start of the year in order to lose weight, become healthier & help deal with a recovering ruptured disc & ongoing arthritis.

A disc rupture five years ago left me in a bad way, I had already put on about 12lbs more than a healthy weight but being laid up & unable to exercise for a long time saw me up to almost 16 stone ( I'm 5ft 10), the heaviest I have ever been.

I have lost 8lbs in the last 12 weeks - too slow for my liking so I was looking for something to help & I found MFP. I have another 30lbs to go & I am determined that I will reach this over the next 20 weeks.

I would be interested in hearing from others who may have had similar experience when recovering from serious injury.

Slow and steady is the way to go. I myself have lost 7lbs in about 60 days. Don't have much to lose, however still have another 5 to go.
